I think one thing that would really open Usine up to a lot of possibilites would be the ability of the sampler to load loops and play them at the current project tempo, pitch locked or not, or record loops internally and then be able to change the tempo.

I understand that this is probably a huge undertaking to code from scratch, but there is some code out there that could used an interim option, ie: http://www.surina.net/soundtouch/ which in my opinion sounds nice on most non percussive material, but even percussive types of sounds work ok so long as the tempo changes aren't too extreme.
I have also recently seen another free code offering that looked very promising but it slips my mind at the moment...
But then again, maybe Usine is too complex to incorporate these type of third party offerings?

Also very popular and good for percussive material is the "rex" style slicing of loops, that I can't imagine would be too difficult to realize in Usine?

Anyways, some food for thought for Usine v6... ;)

Did you noticed that this feature already exists in the Grain Sampler module?
1) open a sample
2) choose "grain sampler" template.
3) a synchronized Grain sampler is opened .

Oh...!
How come there's no giant confused smiley for really dumb or extremely humbled...?
I have always associated the term "grain" with something else so I didn't think to check for this.
Usine will always outsmart me...!
