After hours of not being able to get the result I want, there's a few things I would like to see added to the StepMidi Module.
Note Tie- A modifier key that you could press and drag notes together to create note duration
Note Tie + "Pitch Bend" or "Glide" - A modifier key that you could press and drag notes together of different pitches to create a pitched note length or "bend" with smoothing between notes.
0 step = send Note Off- This is the one thing that I have been able to accomplish with further modules but it just makes sense to include it in StepMidi
I think these things would really open up StepMidi for quick and fun sequencing of synth lines.
StepMidi Improvements
for the note tie: the no repeat can do the job?
0 step = send Note Off: I'm not sure it's not in Midi specification so it can be confusing?
pitch bend: the alternative could be to create a real step sequencer patch with this module other stuffs to complete?

I don't know how I missed that! I guess the only limitation then would be that it would take another step module to turn no repeat off as desired.senso wrote:for the note tie: the no repeat can do the job?
As for note off, I think it is pretty standard for step sequencers to send a note off when the note on has finished playing? Maybe using the step off sends note off would not be the right way to do it, but perhaps another option in the StepMidi control to send note off when note has finished playing would be good? Or even a global note duration before note off is sent slider?
I suppose I should just use the piano roll instead, but then I don't think I can make the type of interface I want to have with the note triggered phrase sequencer I am thinking of...
