hi !

-a 8x8 and 16x16 matrix module ( for data, audio and midi) ?

-I was also thinking about the possibility to connect a "file list module" to sampler modules. It could allow us to switch between several "file list" using only one sampler module. Of course, if no "file list module" are connected, double clicking on the sampler will open the original file list. But if a "file list module " is connected double clicking should not work. Wish you understand my bad english!

Yes it seems to be a good idea.

It could be interesting to have the possibility to select a file very fast in a list by Control Change or Key Press. For exemple : When i press A on my computeur keyboard i select the first item of the list, and it is ready to play. When i press R, i select the fourth item of the list ....

try this modules :
keyboards ( key inlet )
math module - ( with 96 as B)
selector
inlet " file " of the sampler
you can also add a " text field " to the " filename " out of the sampler

now you can use your number pads to select your samples...

hope this help

thanks for your suggestions

1) the matrix is in my "to do" list. But I'm still thing about a general matrix suitable for all patching possibilities, and for audio, midi, data

2) for the file list module this functionality already exists:
- open the file list of the sampler and add several files in it.
- create a combo box with DRAG + [CTRL] from the [file] inlet of the sampler. Usine automatically creates a combo box that contains the file names.

But for cmodica suggestion; Actually there is no way to create individual key learn for each item of the list. I'll create a new object a kind of button collection where it will be possible to assign a value for each and do a good job to solve your problem.

Sorry, but I was not talking about switching between several files.

For ex:

Several "file list module" ( each of them containing several wave files) connected to a text selector (16 in 1 out) module connected to the sampler. File list 1 could contains Wave list percussions, file list 2 bass sounds, filst 3 winds sounds..ect...

I was talking about the ability to switch between several "file LIST module", not about the different files it could contains.

Cheers

Loading files takes a lot of CPU so it will hard to use it in real time and live situation.

So the 'multi-sampler + cross fade' solution is actually the best.

For a future implementation I'll try to create a 'file list name' inlet in the sampler to be able to load complete 'file lists' in real time.

Anyway, this one is a good one too.

It's quite simple to create matrix patches based on either Selector or Dispatcher modules. Which module to use depends on whether the assignment is based on where to send data, or where data is received from.
