Lock to grid view

Could it be possible to lock a track/channel to grid view to override the live mode?

It seems to be complex to implement as is.
Another idea should be to have the sequencer/live mode into a secondary windows, so you can see both modes at the same time on dual screen.

Nice idea.

If the secondary window is resizeable and scrollable so that only what you're interested to see is visible, it could actually achieve about the same thing on a single screen.
