thought it could be powerful to get and eventually set some buses values directly from scripts, dk if possible.
im not aware of all the pgming nebulae strom that might imply but who knows:
would create pbs to track changes for callbacks i suppose, but if the script could just get the value once a certain code is trigged by other 'physical' input it could still be very powerfull.
ie kind of ValTmp:= getBusValue('BusName',i); for single/arrays.
basically im searching a simple way to access various datas, like min/max of a fader placed anywhere in the liveset.
i would need to get back those datas in the script, for a certain amount of datas. I can send them via busses, collect in an array and feed the script. so no worry it actually works. but it implies a lot of wiring,bus creating,in/outs ect . thought bypassing all of this to go directly to the script if it send a request could be kind of magical powerfull feature bypassing few steps.
one thing it would allow is easy acces to IO all over the wksp. as we can just create busses in/out of the item
we want to control, all is then done wirelessly. IML is already really powerful to get access to parent,actual or subpatches level,
but a way to access any data anywhere via IML would be awesome, a combo by using some link
to busses could be a solution?... forget if nightmare, juste reflexion.
IML, get/set busses values from script
It's a good reflexion. And I know that the IML has to be improved in some points.
More generally, we have to converge slowly IML, TEMPLATES, SCRIPTS into a single and more efficient language.

oh yeee, converging IML, templates and script sound exacly like that awesome powerfull thing i imagine!!.
if we could wirelessly access any module by some kind of ID/path/ or naming indexing system, then be able to access to it's sub IO that could be really insane powerful! i now it's gonna take time, but it gonna rocks!
im sure you already have some great ideas about such system. very curious about how to handle.
ill be patient.
