Well, wusikVM apparently doesn't work in V5 of usine, and maybe that's an easy fix, or maybe there's no fix, but this feature would be incredibly useful one way or another!
For those who don't know, wusikVM appears as a VST to the host, but is also a host itself. It can respond to program changes, and allows putting programs from many VSTs into a single bank. When a preset is selected, the appropriate VST is loaded with the appropriate parameter settings. Obviously this could be an issue for slow loading VSTs, but for many VSTs it would be very usable.
It also allows mapping any of the parameters in the subVST to a number (16, I think?) of fixed parameters exposed to the host, so for instance you can make sure filter cutoff is always controlled from the same input, even if each VST uses a different input for it.
At least, that's how it's claimed to work! Since it doesn't work correctly in either Usine or Reaper, and there is almost no documentation, I can't say for sure..... but this functionality would be huge for me, as there are a lot of VSTs out there that only have a few good sounds, and it's not practical to have them permanently wired in my wkp just for that.....
thanks!

wusikVM is really buggy and their website is down...
have you try to reproduce this by patch..?
i mean a main patch with 16 faders , for example who send by bus some infos to another patch on another track
and a load patch module to change vst/vsti with a listbox...

I think a dedicated module in usine to load a vst in place would be usefull. I do extensively use the load patch method but it does create extra work and micro-management of files related to a project. Also the loadpatch module could be more usefull if it allowed loading of a sub patch and leaving external wiring to the sub patch in place...

I will think about loadPatch.
It does seem like it would work, but the way wusikVM does it (or would if it worked) seems much more simple and elegant. Still, if I could get this working soon, it would be nice!
