It would be nice if usine had some kind of parameter indexing, like Reaktor does.
With reaktor, each interface object is assigned an index, which is one of its attributes. This effects how parameter numbers are mapped when reaktor is used as a vst, but also affects how presets are saved and loaded.
Right now in usine, if I change the UI element that is controlling something (i.e. replace a slider with a knob) all the settings in conductor presets for that object are lost! (unless I'm missing something??)
If you do this in reaktor, I simply need to give the new UI element the same index as the old one, and it gets recalled correctly from the preset manager.
I'd really like this functionality in usine, as right now, I am losing data from all my presets every time I make a change in the gui.
thanks!

That would be handy!
Right now, the only solution I see is to do something like this whenever you replace an interface design object with another:

it seems we're looking for the same thing : dissociating the data stored and the controls that change them. That's the goal of my last posts (endless pot, dissociating PM and conductor storing...)
