I couldn't refind a post where I saw about reflexion about position from top to bottoms in the interface builder.
If I well remember someone talked about layers and being myself a cj artist I would like to second that idea,
the softs I use in either 2D, 3D video use that system and it's very powerfull, it can so act for grouping items, and also can have the ability of being 0 or 1, and even greater if possible to make solo. a might be good solution would be to allow to give a number to represent the position of items in the same layer, and layer order. (0 is bg, + 1 is on top) and if we could contol those values inside the patch it would be awesome.

I just dreamt how it would allow to make crasy complete interface in only one page by ie clicking on a list box to access filter settings of a synth or fx , while keeping some parameters always in the same screen...

I was wondering if there couldn't be a workaround, I ve been trying by using the visible parameters of module, and it works, but sadly items don't return to the good position when re-sending to interface builder(any way to "store" pos?). Then I tought I could make 3 differents pages
and access them via a button.(actually my touchscreen is a bit buggy in the botton edges) so, is there a way to control in the patch the page that is visible in the interface builder, but from an item in the interface, (ideally I would like to let's say press a cut off in my main page that would switch the page to a cut off page,)
anyway usine rocks!

you describe the Reaktor (A/B) behavior.
It's an interesting suggestion.
I'll try to find a solution like that in the Version 5?

have you seen the tabbed panel example in the 'others' category of the add-ons? i uploaded a sight remix of martignasse's original idea that i've been using to have popup interface windows - is this the type of thing you're after here? it is possible with usines internal data busses and 'pass if changed' modules to have (for example) small knobs for filter cutoff and resoultion in your main interface, and using the tabs idea you can have a popup window that might have large faders and a graphic display of the filter shape with the faders and the knobs in each different interface reflecting any changes... i'm not sure i've explained that very well, so if you have any trouble i'll see if i can think of a better way, or maybe do an example in the add-ons (or the wiki if that's possible...)

Ive missed it the first time with first version, this is exactly what I wanted to achieved!, this works amazing! and it keeps the position!!!!! and in the interface builder!!! Waoouu! great thank you Clearscreen and martignasse!!

i had tried the visible inputs but only with items INSIDE the patch, so it was not keeping pos.
so what's the trick? you simply animate the visible inlet of a whole subpach, or there is a subblte thing to do?
oh... this is the "interface" module i missunderstood....rrraaa every day im more and more astonished by usine possibilities.
so items position are stored relatively to a subpatch interface?


.... but wait a minute so that means that layerz already exist in usine, and we can group items for the interface builder!, simply group them as a patch no?!!!! at least this is a really great workaround to simulate them!
