Hello,
What about choosing if the main "in" are mono or stereo ?
It's a bit destabilizing to have stereo tracks for mono instruments in the setup menu and in the monitor meters.

...or perhaps I do something wrong ? (for each mono instrument I send the same signal in the left/right).

You can define an input as mono in the setup; just select the same physical input for both L and R. And you only have add one input and one output in the patches.

Ok, that's what I'm doing, but I found confusing having 10 level meters for 5 mono in, and an "audio left" in the patch for a mono treatment.
I know this suggestion is more about confort than efficiency, but for my poor "non-scientist" brain it would help a little ;)

I may be hijacking this thread by suggesting something like this for V5:

The setup of in-/outputs shouldn't be restricted to 10 * stereo. There's maybe some technical reasons for restricting the numbers to either 20 physical or 10 virtual in-/outputs, but if one could freely assign any number of physical ports to a virtual one it would be great.

An example of output assignments:
Output 1 (quad to PA): Physical outputs 1~4
Output 2 (stereo sidefill monitoring): Physical outputs 5~6
Output 3 (stereo headset monitoring): Physical outputs 7~8
Output 4 (mono stage monitoring 1): Physical output 9
Output 5 (mono stage monitoring 2): Physical output 10
