Is there a reason why this is illegal?

Basically every control I have is in a subpatch! I'd like to be able to show and hide controls without having to create another sub-subpatch for each control. Especially since subcontainers don't snap to grid, and therefore are difficult to layout accurately.

Thanks!

Each control can be hidden in real time, using the 'visible' inlet.
To display the 'visible' inlet, just click on the 'white square' in the module (expand command)
Especially since subcontainers don't snap to grid, and therefore are difficult to layout accurately.
clicking somewhere in the parent interface builder (container) provide a snap to grid on the child containers.
I know it's not automatic, and I'm working to solve the pb.

Thanks for the tip on snap to grid.

When I set a control in a subpatch to invisible, I get:

subpatch control can't be invisible

scrolling endlessly in my output......

However, it did just occur to me, I could set its visibility to 'control panel' instead, as a workaround....

that will simplify my life, and make the tiny subwindowing problem go away....

oh wait, I recall that doesn't work, because the control forgets its size and placement in the layout.....
