An "Interface Control/Conductor" module?
-
Vincent
Hi all!
One more cranky idea...
I am dreaming about an implant in my head to drive the Conductor (and part of my keyboard).
Waiting for that, could it be possible to have just a simple module?
I could add a crazy script to decide when to trigger next or previous (or random) scene according to what I play...

hi vincent,
no probleme for you'r crazy idea :
http://www.ibva.com/Step1/Step1.html#midi
IBVA System is here for you, it's not an implant, but should do the trick
and here is the price :
http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~pppf6/IBV ... ckage.html
approx 1300 $ for the basic set....

And an option on the sequencer module to go to loop marker X...

Yes, very good idea! I was wondering about that too.bsork wrote:And an option on the sequencer module to go to loop marker X...
=>martignasse - about the Brain2MIDI Expansion Pack: I think I have less dexterity with my brain than with my hands (and feet) even with the "coherence detector". Does J.-M. Jarre use it? That could explain some stuffs in that we used to call his music...
And I'm wondering... what can happen when you connect Brain2MIDI to a random sequenced remote Midi-out?

the conductor panel module is very simple to create.
next version (I hope)
Also, I will create buttons on the conductor lite to have a direct acces create a midi learn, a key learn to recall a line.
For the sequencer marker, a litle more complex but still easy.
I put it in my todo list.

well, why this make you think about J-M Jarre ?Vincent wrote:about the Brain2MIDI Expansion Pack: I think I have less dexterity with my brain than with my hands (and feet) even with the "coherence detector". and yes, the point isn't to replace a midi keyboard by you'r brain, but...
what about if a midi control surface .....is just you brain ?
it's just about inovatif potential... the music modify you'r brain (emotion, sensation), and you'r brain modify the music. could be an interesting infinit beedback
(don't know if i'm clear here)

Yes martignasse, I understand.
I'm gonna compose a new piece called psychic and emotional larsen using IBVA step1. But it's still too expensive for me.
IBVA have had a long and chaotic existence! Why don't they try to work more with musicians in the electro-experimental domain? I was thinking about JMJ because he likes huge crazy systems and makes poor music with them (but lot of money - I really must be aware of that point!).
And what about that crazy midi "keyboard"?
We should talk about that in the General Discussion forum! That's interesting I think.

I found something!!!And an option on the sequencer module to go to loop marker X...
Not really an option in the sequencer module but a set of functions and procedures to do that in a script:
function GetSmptePos:double;
procedure SetSmptePos(pos:double);
function GetLoopMarkerPos(N:integer):double; // N from 0 to nbMarkers-1
next release

Great Olivier! Do you have something similar with the VstPos? Or is just a small piece of code needed to calculate the between timecode and bars/beats?
Bjørn S
do you mean the ppQpos?
already accessible in the synchro module (outlet Position).

This is a bit embarassing... I hadn't noticed that outlet, but it's a (relatively) new addition, or..? It's not mentioned in the manual.
If I knew this existed, I might have done the PunchInLoops thing differently, by checking this value instead of counting blocks. That would make varying tempi easy to implement; as it is now I haven't bothere. The count blocks method do have the benefit of being lighter on the CPU (I think), and in addition the check for whether a play trigger should be sent is easier since I don't have to take into account any roundings.
Any possibility to have that as an input as well? (I'm never satisified, it seems...)

You're right it's a new addition, not mentioned in the manual.
Sorry, I'm confused.
The manual is updated now.
A direct access to ppQpos (Read & Write) in a script should be easy to implement.

the problem for me is the relation between ppqPos and SMPTEpos. Not so clear in my mind...Any possibility to have that as an input as well?
